Chardonnay is the most planted white variety in Australia and it’s a variety that has enjoyed the industry’s highs and weathered its lows with resilience, and it continues to hold a special place in the heart of wine lovers. It is a popular still table wine, however Australian sparkling winemakers also use Chardonnay to craft single-varietal sparkling Chardonnay as well as blends. Today, Chardonnay is grown in 89% of Australian wine regions and our creative winemakers are breaking boundaries by utilising their insights as well as other’s influences to produce premium Chardonnay wines that are well-recognised across the world.
Wine Australia co-hosted ‘Chardonnay – The Evolution of a Classic’ seminar with Wine Vision on Friday 4 June in Seoul, South Korea.
