Development of methods for the control of vine vigour and water use optimization based on the concept of partial rootzone drying
Abstract
Development of methods for the control of vine vigour and water use optimization based on the concept of partial rootzone drying
Summary
The project introduced and developed the concept of PRD as a method to improve the efficiency of water use in grapevines. PRD relies on the deliberate creation of discontinuities in root hydration to stimulate normal stress response mechanisms and change the physiology of the vine. Many horticultural industries around the world are now testing these ideas.
