Some reports and other content provided on this website are restricted to wine and grape levy-payers and/or wine exporters with a current export licence. Our licence arrangements with external data providers prevent us from sharing most of this content with non-levy payers.
We have a large amount of freely available information on our website that can assist non-levy payers including researchers, industry consultants, media and students.
Our online Market Explorer enables you to research different wine markets – including consumption, imports, exports and other market characteristics. We have also written a number of articles on various aspects of wine production, sales and exports, which are in the searchable market bulletin section of our website.
There are a number of reports, particularly in the Grape and Wine Production, Wine Production and Sales, and Wine Sector at a Glance sections, that are not restricted to levy-payers. These cover statistics and insights about the Australian wine sector, including Geographical Indications (wine regions) and varieties. For more detailed information about the characteristics of individual regions and varieties, see our Australian Wine Discovered tools, information and resources.
Two tools that are helpful for more specific projects analysing the profitability of wine are the Gross Margin Ready Reckoner and its simplified version, the FOB to retail calculator.
A limited number of reports and export data can be purchased by non-levy payers and non-wine exporters. Our price list shows which reports/data are available for purchase. See price list
