Swan District Geographical Indication
The Australian Geographical Indication "Swan District" was entered in the Register of Protected Names on 10 December 1998 in response to a direction received by the Registrar from the Presiding Member of the Geographical Indications Committee acting under Section 40Z of the WAC Act 1980.

The Geographical Indication "Swan District" is located within the zone of "Greater Perth" within the State of Western Australia, Australia.
The beginning point of the boundary is on Map Gin Gin (Sheet 2035) at grid reference LL600253, then proceeds northerly along the 600 grid line to grid reference LL600550, then proceeds easterly along grid line 550 to the edge of map at grid reference ML047550; On to Map Chittering (Sheet 2135) at grid reference ML047550 and continue easterly along grid line 550 to its intersection with Bindoon Moora Road at grid reference ML095550, then proceeds southerly along the Bindoon Moora Road to grid reference ML100517, then proceeds southerly along grid line 100 to its intersection with Great Northern Highway at grid reference ML100186, then proceeds generally southerly along the Great Northern Highway to the edge of map at grid reference ML087145; On to Map Wooroloo (Sheet 2134) at grid reference ML087145 and continue generally southerly along the Great Northern Highway until it intersects the 100 metre contour at grid reference ML066107, then proceeds generally southerly along the 100 metre contour to the edge of map at grid reference ML051090; On to Map Perth (Sheet 2034) at grid reference ML051090, then proceeds generally southerly along the 100 metre contour to the edge of map at grid reference ML051086; On to Map Wooroloo (Sheet 2134) at grid reference ML051086, then proceeds generally southerly along the 100 metre contour to grid reference MK100910, then proceeds southerly along grid line 100 to its intersection with the Avon River at grid MK100837, then proceeds north easterly along the Avon River to grid reference MK110843, then proceeds southerly along grid line 110 until it intersects the 100 metre contour line at MK110834, then proceeds generally southerly along this 100 metre contour to grid reference MK110685, the proceeds southerly along grid line 110 until it intersects the 100 metre contour at grid reference MK110662, then proceeds generally southerly along this 100 metre contour to the edge of map at grid reference MK080592; On to Map Jarrahdale (Sheet 2133) at grid reference MK080592 and proceeds generally southerly along the same 100 metre contour to grid reference MK080505, then proceeds westerly in a straight line to the Perth to Armadale railway line at grid reference MK060505, then proceeds north westerly along the Perth to Armadale railway line to the edge of map at grid reference MK056509; On to Map Fremantle (Sheet 2033) at grid reference MK056509 and continue along the same railway line to grid reference MK000575, then proceeds northerly along the grid line 000 to the edge of map at grid reference MK000590; On to map Perth (Sheet 2034) at grid reference MK000590, then continues northerly along grid line 000 to grid reference MK000720, then proceeds westerly along grid line 720 to intersect the Western Australia coastline at grid reference MK819720, then proceeds north north westerly along the Western Australia coastline to the edge of map at grid reference LL656141; On to Map Gin Gin (Sheet 2035) at grid reference LL654142 and continue north north westerly along the coastline to grid reference LL600253, being the originating point.
