Continuing strong growth for Australian wine exports
Bottled exports, most notably at higher price points, drove the 13 per cent value growth of Australian wine exports in the last year.
Wine Australia’s Export Report shows that the average value of exports grew at the fastest rate since 1999, up 10 per cent to A$2.85 per litre. This reflects the increasing demand for premium Australian wines in most regions around the world, particularly Asia. Free trade agreements and an on-going weaker Australian dollar, mainly against the greenback, also contributed to the growth in exports.
