China Food & Drinks Fair 2020 Chengdu
The China Food & Drinks Fair, established in 1955, is one of the largest and most influential wine exhibitions in Chinese history, attracting more than 100,000 Chinese trade and buyers from across the country.
In 2020, the Australian wine sector will return for its seventh year at the event, having established a strong presence in China as a leading producer of fine wine.
The fair is located in Sichuan Province – the economic powerhouse of western China – with thousands of wine importers and buyers queuing outside the entrance each year to sample some of the best wines around the world.
Traditionally the China Food & Drinks Fair is divided into two parts: a series of hotel shows featuring wine, spirit and beer tastings that offer business and networking opportunities, and the main fair or trade exhibition for brand development and promotion, which features more than 3,000 exhibitors.
In 2020, Australia will return with an expanded presence at the event as part of its concerted effort to drive demand for Australian wine in China – an initiative supported by the Australian Government’s $50 million Export and Regional Wine Support Package.
Attendees will be treated to Australian wine tastings, master classes and networking opportunities that amplify the Australian wine message and raise awareness of the people, the grape varieties and the places that make our wine unique and special.
Both China Food & Drinks Fair and the hotel trade show will run in the same week and provide a well-rounded platform to showcase wines to key media, importers, distributors and retailers from across China.
