Wine Australia is pleased to offer wineries signed up to Australian Wine Connect access to a series of exclusive virtual Meet the Buyer events for several key international markets, organised by the Food and Agribusiness Growth Centre trading as Food Innovation Australia Ltd (FIAL).
Established by the Australian Government, and supported by Austrade, FIAL’s role is to catalyse business growth, and increase the share of Australian food and beverage in the global marketplace.
With a focus both on market entry and new distribution, these virtual events will provide export-ready Australian wineries the opportunity to to meet with qualified buyers in secure one-on-one meetings. Prior to the event, buyers nominate wineries to meet with from the list of registered participants. FIAL schedules and facilitates the meetings, with each event consisting of a series of private 20-minute one-on-one video conferences with buyers from the focus market.
In conjunction with Austrade, a free briefing webinar will be held prior to each Meet the Buyer event, to prepare wineries and delivered via in-market experts on opportunities & challenges.

Participation
If you wish to be considered by buyers for a particular event, complete the Expression of Interest (EOI) registration form below.
Upon closure of registrations, Wine Australia will pass all participating winery details to FIAL, who will create your company profile on their Australian Food Catalogue (AFC). FIAL will forward you your log-in details for you to complete the profile. The AFC was created by FIAL and provides an online platform for buyers and suppliers to meet.
Your company profile will then be sent to the buyers for review and you will be notified by FIAL when you have been successful in securing an appointment. Successful applicants will receive a link to join a private and secure video conference.
Please note that completing an expression of interest form does not guarantee meetings with buyers, selection will be at the discretion of the buyers.
Cost
Participation in your first three Meet the Buyer events is included in your Australian Wine Connect registration fee.
For subsequent event participation, a flat fee of $100 ex GST will be charged only if a meeting is secured with at least one buyer.
Special conditions
Wineries must be export-ready with a profile on Australian Wine Connect.
Meetings are set at the buyers’ request. Wineries are not guaranteed a meeting.
In completing an expression of interest form, you agree to Wine Australia sharing your contact and winery profile information with FIAL.
Wineries must be available to accept meetings at the times scheduled by FIAL. Changing the time of a meeting may incur an administration fee.
Cancellation must be communicated to FIAL in writing no less than 48 hours prior to the event. Cancellation fees may apply within this time.
FIAL reserves the right to change the agenda, speakers and one-on-one meeting schedule.
FIAL and Wine Australia reserves the right to cancel or change the date of the event.
You may be invited by e-mail or telephone, to take part in surveys and case-studies regarding the events you participate in. FIAL and Wine Australia reserve the right to exclude participants who provide false or misleading answers. Wine Australia and FIAL reserve the copyright for all survey content.
