The Australia Trade Tastings returned to London, Edinburgh and Dublin in January 2019.
Running for over 30 years, this annual roadshow has become the biggest, brightest and most diverse showcase of Australian wine in Europe.
In 2019 the roadshow featured more than 1000 wines from 240 producers across 45 regions of Australia. The event gave a taste of the country’s exciting and diverse styles of wine, from classic to contemporary, rogue to the refined.
Some of the exhibiting producers were renowned names, whilst others were new discoveries that are not yet in market and seeking distribution. This year, a number of producers were exhibiting for the very first time. An indication that, despite the uncertainty surrounding Brexit, it is business as normal for many producers and there’s even an air of opportunity in the market. First-time ATT exhibitors included Silkman Wines, Kirrihill Wines, Levantine Hill, Patritti, Barristers Block and Tim Smith Wines.
Across the roadshow, over 1000 visitors attended from the UK, Irish and European wine trade, including buyers from multiple retailers and independent specialists, sommeliers and journalists. The event also attracted a high number of educators, who were keen to experience the new education programme Australian Wine Discovered, which launched on 22 January 2019. Guests explored the programme’s modules, and discovered more about the content and how it can be used.
