Tips for career presentations
- Check the class demographic and pitch it to match them.
- Give your back story. What did you study? What pathway did you follow?
- Allow for at least two 8-minute interactive or hands-on activities per presentation.
- Make strong links to industry applications.
- Ask for 3 or 4 pre-determined questions from the class.

This Navigator offers a step-by-step process across the five phases of work placement, along with tips, tricks, and insights to enhance the work placement experience.
This resource does not address state or school policies. For example, working with children requirements vary state to state. Legislative guidelines should be consulted by school staff and industry hosts involved in student work placements to ensure compliance.
