Growers from McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills and Langhorne Creek gathered in McLaren Vale in early November to attend a one-day workshop on spray application. Titled ‘Hitting the Target’, the workshop was funded by Wine Australia under its Regional Program.

The morning program, held at the McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Visitor Information Centre, featured insights into fungicide and herbicide behaviour within canopies, inversion layers, spray regulations, sprayer calibration and tips for maximising spray coverage.

After disinfested their shoes in a footbath solution, attendees walked to a nearby vineyard for live demonstrations on spraying drones, driverless tractors, spot sprayers towed by driverless vehicles, and effective sprayer calibration and spray unit set-up.
