Wine Australia is thrilled to announce an opportunity for women working in the Australian grape and wine sector to complete the award-winning Diploma of Digital Technologies through Flinders University, South Australia at no cost.
Flinders University is currently coordinating an application for the Australian Government Women in STEM Cadetships and Advanced Apprenticeship Program to offer working women professional development opportunities.
Expressions of Interest are open until Wednesday 1 June 2022 to complete the Diploma of Digital Technologies at no cost.
The course has been designed to provide graduates with an understanding of theory and practice of Industry 4.0 approaches and digital design. It explores how digital technologies can transform the wine sector through the application of robotics, sensor-based solutions, automation and data analytics.
The benefits to your business in nominating a candidate for this course are:
- training in Industry 4.0 innovation, for example robotics, sensor-based electronics, digital transformation, cyber-security, traceability, blockchain
- reduced productivity down-time to accommodate training as the course is delivered part-time over 2 years, requiring approximately 3 hours online per week, and
- upskilling through the program is delivered at no financial cost for employers and participants; the program covers full tuition costs as well as $1000 to purchase project materials.
Participants will be encouraged to participate in an intensive two weeks of face-to-face labs in a year, at Flinders University, Tonsley in Adelaide. The program will support you accessing with a $1000 travel bursary for interstate and regional participants to cover accommodation and flights.
The program is open to women across the wine sector value chain; from within the vineyard to wine production, packaging and bottling to cellar-door and marketing.
There are no education pre-requisites, it is open to women regardless of skill levels – whether you finished high school or have a PhD. You do not need to be currently working directly in engineering, digital technologies or related areas – the purpose of this program is digital enablement, providing you with the knowledge, skills and practical application to understand what role Industry 4.0 can play in your business.
The program will be contextualised to the needs of individuals participating (you can work on your own challenge) and the grape and wine sector in close collaboration with Wine Australia.
