Wines of Western Australia has released of a series of videos which chronicle the ultimate wine and food road trip through all of WA’s wine regions.
The video series has been supported by Wine Australia, with funding from the Australian Government’s $50 million Export and Regional Wine Support Package, as well as the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and Tourism Western Australia.
Wine Australia Chief Executive Officer said ‘The $50m Package funded state grant has enabled Wines of Western Australia to showcase the state’s fine wine, food and experiences, as part of a broader strategy to drive wine tourism and increase visitor length and stay’, he said.
Presented by writer and critic Erin Larkin, and native food chef and forager Paul Iskov from Fervor Food, the pair taste and cook their way through some of the state’s most beautiful locations. Paul’s passion for indigenous ingredients sees him using native herbs and spices to punctuate and enhance the rich array of local produce such as marron, abalone, kangaroo and oysters. Erin expertly matches these dishes with the finest wines from each region.
The videos capture an authentic sense of place and distinct personality for each region, making them unique and compelling viewing for any potential tourists to the state.
‘It was a great week in the regions and a chance to really showcase the leading wine varieties and produce from each place – Paul and I would love to do it all over again!’ said Erin.
