Australia has one of the most diverse wine scenes in the world. Quite simply, there’s nothing like it. With more than 100 grape varieties grown across 65 wine regions, our wines are an expression of the distinctive terroirs and vibrant communities that cultivate them.
Unfortunately, with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and increased restrictions around tasting protocols and the numbers of attendees, it is not possible to plan for large physical tasting events in early 2021. Therefore, we will not be running our Australia Trade Tasting in the UK in January 2021. While the situation is always changing, the safety and wellbeing of our staff and the Australian and international wine community remains our top priority.
The Wine Australia team is working on an exciting, new virtual event and online platform, which will launch in March 2021. Far From Ordinary will offer an immersive, targeted online program to the wine trade and media across the world. It will be a showcase of Australian wine and will deliver a taste of Australia to wine communities across the UK, Europe, USA, Canada, APAC and China.
Far From Ordinary will feature online discussions, debates, webinars, virtual tastings, and new-to-market showcases. The event will coincide with the launch of an innovative, online space – available throughout the year – which will provide commercial and networking opportunities for wine brands. More details about the event and the online marketplace will be confirmed soon, and updates will be posted on our event page.
