Unique Australian terroirs showcased for UK and Europe wine influencers
The unique terroirs, people and stories of 5 Australian wine regions will come to life for the 10 influential media and trade visitors from the UK and Europe who are participating in Wine Australia’s annual regional visit.
Starting today, the visitors will experience the diversity and regionality of Australian wines in McLaren Vale (SA), Riverina (NSW), Mornington Peninsula (Vic.), King Valley (Vic.) and then Margaret River (WA).
Wine Australia’s General Manager of Marketing Stuart Barclay says that bringing influential international wine professionals to our wine regions is the best way to tell the Australian wine story.
‘We are delighted to have the opportunity to showcase exciting, contemporary Australian fine wines to leaders in the UK and European wine scene’, he said.

- Jacqueline Jensen – Freelance wine writer (Denmark)
- Tomasz Kuszneruk – Head Sommelier, Plateau Restaurant (UK)
- Rupert Millar – Managing Editor, The Drinks Business (UK)
- Mikko Numminen – Editor-in-Chief, Viini Magazine (Finland)
- Jon Rosborn – Wine educator and freelance wine writer (Sweden)
- Douglas Wood – Owner, WoodWinters Wines and Whiskies (UK).
‘Our regional visits are critical to our strategic priority of raising global perceptions of Australian wine in key export markets. By experiencing the wines, people and places of a region, our guests will leave with a greater understanding of the breadth of Australian fine wine on offer’, he said.
This visit follows those in October by 45 Masters of Wine and a Majestic Group manager visit.
The itineraries for the visits have been developed in partnership with the regional associations and wineries participating in the promotional visit.
