School is in session – One Day Wine School hits the road in 2015

Wine Australia’s One Day Wine School, which provides students with a deeper understanding of Australian wine and its regions, returns for the third year in 2015 with an expanded program that includes classes in Sydney and Melbourne, and for the first time Adelaide and Brisbane.

Hosted by Wine Australia Regional Director Aaron Brasher, alongside a guest presenter, the classes are an ideal forum for wine professionals such as educators, sommeliers, distributors and retailers to learn more about Australian wine. Past guest presenters have included Kim Bickley (Fine Wine Partners), Tom Hogan (Harry & Frankie) and Philip Rich (Prince Wine Store).

Active participation and lively discussion is encouraged as students learn about Australian wine region’s micro-climates and geology; local wine production and gain insights in to the state of the Australian wine sector all while tasting 30 local wines across six flights.

At the end of the session students can choose to sit an exam of short answer questions and one masked wine to test their new-found knowledge. The top nine students across the four classes (based on their exam results) will win a place on Wine Australia’s Trade Immersion Program (TIP) visiting Langhorne Creek, the Riverina, Clare Valley and King Valley in June 2015.
